The Capitol steps and the Supreme Court Building provided a beautiful setting for Aaron Tippin last night. The weather was perfect and the crowd was one of the largest we've seen at the Salute to America opening ceremonies. Aaron said of all the places where he has performed this is second only to the Washington Monument.

The event on the capitol lawn with Aaron Tippin was superb as was the parade with the three bands from Minnesota. Bravo!
I did hear one of the host speakers, however, stumble with the word "Corps" three times.
General Douglas McArthur silently rolled over in his grave, and a few of us in the audience felt like shouting out "the S is silent...and the word sounds like CORE."
